Virtual Clinician

I began my training in mental health at Emory University where I earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology in 1996.  In August of 2016 I graduated from Argosy University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  As a successful entrepreneur in the intervening years I worked and volunteered in crisis counseling, career counseling, mentoring, and advocating for underserved individuals and communities.  Today and every day I strive to better understand and better serve the diverse cultures and individuals that make up our global community.

To that end I utilize tools such as hypnotherapy, exposure and response prevention, cognitive behavioral interventions, narrative therapy, and mindfulness techniques, leaning heavily on Internal Family Systems and Attachment theories.  I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, religious trauma, abuse, ADHD, relationship challenges, and more.  I have a passion for transformative social justice and have pursued specialized training to work with the LGBTQ+ community, those in minority relationship structures, and other marginalized populations.  As part of many of those same communities, I also bring my own lived experience into the counseling relationship.

I am a goal oriented, person centered counselor focused on solutions that work.  As a therapist I approach clients' needs from the "ideal world" model, help clients define their own ideal world and work together to achieve it.  By identifying strengths, building confidence, and developing new skills, clients find that they have everything they need to succeed already within themselves.  Whether you want to work on personal growth, career development, strengthening coping skills, navigating life challenges, or processing trauma, as a client you may expect to be honored, respected, accepted, and challenged as we join forces to make life work!
