Introducing Joshua Young
We’re excited to announce the newest member of our team, Joshua Young!
Joshua writes, “As a queer individual, I believe that a person’s gender and sexuality can evolve over time. My primary goal in the counseling process is to support each person in their process of becoming their most authentic self. My clinical interest is working with clients in the LGBTQ+ community. I especially enjoy working with individuals who are processing life transitions and Interpersonal conflicts and those exploring their gender and sexuality. I am a third-year graduate-level student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Mercer University.
My approach to counseling is person-centered with an Existential perspective and an integration of Motivational Interviewing techniques. I believe that clients are experts on themselves and their journey. It is rewarding to work alongside individuals as a passenger in their journey of self-authenticity.”
I value Buddhist principles and enjoy attending to the present moment experience. I love to travel, practice yoga, and eat plant-based foods. I am passionate about artistic self-expression through all mediums, particularly drawing, painting, music, and fashion.”
“As an intern, the fee structure for counseling is to pay what you can with a minimum of $45 for a 50-minute session. Sessions with me are not reimbursable through insurance, either in or out-of-network, due to my status as an intern.”
Joshua is currently under the supervision of Karen Lill, MA, LPC, ATR, NCC, Nick Marzo, MS LPC, LMHC, CST, CPCS, NCC, CCMHC, and Tyler Wilkinson, PhD, LPC, NCC, ACS.”
